Will central banks dare to trigger a recession?

It is becoming increasingly difficult to rein in high inflation. A recession is likely needed to bring it back to around 2%. But given the high debt levels, a recession can easily cause a new credit crisis. Do central banks dare to take this risk, or will they take a step back and give way to inflation (again)?
