Stock, bond and commodity markets are still signalling that 2021 will be the year of the strong economic comeback. Large-scale monetary stimulus and mass vaccinations are the main drivers of optimism. Equally important, however, are the fiscal safety nets spread by US and European governments. Will Europe be able to keep up with the US in this area or will it largely lag behind the US?
